4-Player Team Competition Rules Summary (Sat ONLY)
Limited to 32 Teams
SIGN UP
Each Player participating in this Team Competition must register and pay for the event.
Your TEAM CAPTAIN must first create the team. Once the team has been created, all players may register to play on that team.
FORMAT
Each team will consist of 4 players (Co-ed with 2 Men and 2 Women).
MATCHES
Each Match will consist of 4 games: a Men’s Doubles game, a Women’s Doubles game, and 2 Mixed Doubles games. The Team Captain will determine the pairings for each game. If necessary to break a 2-game to 2-game tie, a Mini Singles/Singles Tie-Breaker game to 21 will be played to determine the Match winner. (See SINGLES TIE-BREAKER TO DETERMINE MATCH WINNER below.)
GAMES/SCORING
Each Game shall be played in accordance with 2025 USA Pickleball (Provisional Rule) Rally Scoring Option found in the 2025 USAP Rulebook.
Games will be played to 21 (change ends at 11). All Games must be won by 2 points and a game-winning point can only be scored when serving.
A point is scored by the player or team that wins each rally except the game point is scored only when serving.
The server continues to serve, alternating service courts until the serving side loses the rally or commits a fault. Only one player on a team will serve before a side-out is declared and service is awarded to the opponent.
After each side out, service begins with the player correctly positioned on the right/even side of the court according to the team’s score.
Calling the Score in Doubles Matches. The proper sequence for calling the score is server score then receiver score as two numbers. (e.g., “one – zero.”) All standard rules shall apply to rally scoring except as otherwise provided in the 2025 USAP Rulebook.
SINGLES TIE-BREAKER TO DETERMINE MATCH WINNER
If two teams playing a Match are tied 2-2 after the Doubles and Mixed Doubles Games, a Mini Singles Tie-Breaker game will be played. Tie-Breakers will be played using the 2025 USAP Rally scoring (as described above) and will include ALL PLAYERS on both teams.
Prior to the start of the Competition, the Team Captain will have designated the order in which each player will play on the team. The first designated player on each team starts the Tie-Breaker game. After 4 rallies (not points), the players will rotate off and the next players will continue the game. This sequence will continue until the tie-breaker is completed.
Registration open September 5, 2025.
